Baffling it certainly was as England's game fell apart in the 2nd half at Twickenham v Wales - and we were all scratching our heads at how such dominance can dissolve through a team in a 15-man game - with enough experienced players there to see them through.
Might this be a clue?

I wince every time I hear negative instructions and observations/motivations using words like don't, mustn't and shouldn't. Trouble is, half time is often a regular forum for these types of remarks and they can, without anyone noticing, seep into the players' subconscious and lie dormant waiting for conditions that allow them to germinate.
Half time is a distraction, a state-breaker even at the best of times - and players can react to this in a variety of ways, at whatever level the game is played at. They are all human after all! The key to distraction and broken-states is to have the restarts, the switch-on, the re-focus, well anchored. The other key is to build (as well as possible) a routine for centreing (or grounding) the whole team when things start to slide and management have no opportunity to influence or initiate.
Clearly this didn't happen in this match, and we watched with no little amazement as collectively England's 1st half performance and strategies sank without trace.
