If you check under the "Sports Hypnosis - Opening the Senses" postings there are a couple of entries regarding pain management.

In terms of injury and rehab, there is a lot you can do in terms of the emotional content of pain, and how - by freeing yourself from the emotion - the body's inner work on recovery can proceed much more smoothly.

Likewise, irritating or mildly chronic pain, can be by-passed quite well without the need to resort to even paracetamol or other general purpose drugs. Next time you have a headache (maybe a hangover!) try these 2 methods......

1.  Fill the well of your mouth under the tongue with saliva, for as long as you can hold it there without swallowing. After a short while you find it difficult to notice or locate the headache.

2.  One of the treatments in evTFT (Evolving Thought Field Therapy) is "Touch and Breathe"(TAB). To quote:-
"The TAB approach is a gentle, mindful, and natural treatment, used in lieu of tapping, to facilitate Chi influence along the acupuncture meridians". The tapping referred to here is part of conventional Thought Field Therapy developed by Roger Callahan PhD.
Whilst this has left you either with aroused curiosity or stone cold unmoved - all I'll say here is that just a part of this treatment alleviated a pounding headache (that accompanied an angina attack) for my mother. You will have to go to my other posting to find out more...!!!
